Sandown Gold Cup.
No surprise I have to continue to be behind Kitty, although I am concerned about his big efforts not just the recent GN effort. I'm not too happy with Jack Tudors comments re GN, him not being good enough, I'm not sure the style of the run suited the horse, either that or last yr has left a mark. I think he was good enough and I don't pick many SN or Sandown GC winners for GN. So mileage and his owners demands continues to be my concern.
Anyway my other picks, end of season it's always tough here. Minella Cocooner and Courtland for me.
Townend has chosen Nick Rockitt so I've probably picked the wrong one. Maybe hell have two in the frame. I think Kinondo could do something but hey can't pick them all, good luck with your bets team! Come on Kitty!

This is what my Grand National weight adjusted RPR system produced for the Bet 365 today:
Minella Cocooner was both in my weight adjusted RPR selections (my own version) and in the 9 key stats selections.
My five selections.
Kittys Light 9th 11/2
Threeunderthrufive 13th 22/1
Nick Rockett 3rd 7/1
Minella Cocooner 1st 17/2
Annual Invictus 2nd 20/1
The winner is likely to be 16/1 or less at the off. CORRECT
Not bad for the system was it?

With good ground there is no reason (and on the price best profile of 16/1 or less) the winner should not be 11.00 or more.

Wd winners, like Mike said Minella Cocooner was a fairly popular pick.
Kitty’s looked a very tired horse, miles on the clock and a tougher season looked to have finally caught up with him. Hopefully we’ll see a true Kitty again next season.

So no Iron Bridge It should never have run in the SN. Reliant on Minella Cocooner now, which I backed EW at 40/1 & 33/1 but less keen on the win part. Nice one Mike C, great odds!!! Pleased for you. |

I thought it had a great chance of a place, but coming from off the pace, might allow one or two to get too far ahead to catch on good ground.
I think that the drop of rain probably helped and it made up for the previous three lean years !
I backed it at 66/1 EW 5 places with Unibet for the GN at the same time as an anticipated good run would shorten next year's GN price.
Now for the Flat.
